WHAT WE DO
Willie learnt his trade under the watchful eye of his well known father Bill Bryan, as showman, winning Supreme Champion at HOYS twice in his showing career; champion point to point trainer many times, breaking many records and producer of many top horses in all spheres.
Willie spent his youth mainly race riding, show jumping, showing and producing young horses with his father. He married Mandy who rode as an amateur for 10 years before retiring from race riding to have 4 children, 3 of whom ride. Peter rode as an amateur starting his working life with his Aunt Karen and Uncle Peter Bowen, learning the Bryan/Bowen way. Now he works for Archie Watson as work rider and schooling jockey and also for Georgie Nichols. Josh did his apprenticeship on the flat with Andrew Balding and rode for him and Archie Watson primarily as well as other trainers. After riding over 150 winners on the flat, he has recently taken out his dual licence to ride over fences connected to Olly Murphy.
Willie and Mandy started buying foals over 20 years ago and producing them mainly for other people with good success. Even buying cheap fillies and producing them to win black type graded races. (He bought and produced the winner of the Aintree Championship Bumper 3 times with 3 different horses) Bill Bryan had a wonderful ‘eye’ when buying horses and foals which was so key to his success and it seems Willie has followed in his footsteps. He also is an avid follower of statistics and breeding and the crosses that make a racehorse and more importantly the ones to avoid.
Willie and Mandy are buying foals and producing them mainly ready for the 4yr old racing market. They are broken and have had several sessions of training including jumping by the time they are ready for sale. By this time we know they are tough and ready to go and Willie will have assessed their ability. Their formative years being on good pasture and top feed and supplements.

I have been a small owner and breeder of racehorses over the last 25 years culminating in breeding 3 winners from a moderate National Hunt mare and about 25 low grade winners via single ownerships, partnerships, and syndicates.
Since being introduced to Willie and Mandy I have learnt so much about how to bring thoroughbred youngsters on from breeding, health and nutrition to understanding that young thoroughbreds need exercise and development even at the very early stage of their lives.
I now run a syndicate that has purchased a mare that has bred a Group1 winner on the flat, am involved in various syndicates and my passion for flat and national hunt racing is finally paying for itself.

We have known Willie and Mandy for some years and would not consider sending a young horse to start its training and education to anyone else. Their vast knowledge and experience is second to none . Horses are started correctly, not expected or asked to do anything before they are able and ready. When they are returned they are properly and professionally broken, confident, well fed and in good condition.
They don't stand idle in their boxes. Willie is extremely committed and maximises every bit of daylight. Few people work as diligently as these guys nowadays.
We would also value their opinion on any aspect of a horse, physiology, temperament and ability for its future job. You have to only look at the success Willie has achieved in his selection and production of young thoroughbreds to understand.

Having grown up competing alongside the expert showman Bill Bryan we knew years ago the expertise, hard work and dedication that this family all put into producing young horses so when we started buying young potential race horses it was only fitting that for their best start in life we send them to Willie and Mandy. Without exception every horse that has been broken and schooled there has been a real credit to them. We also like to send the older horses to them for pre training in readiness for the new season, it just freshens them up.
In recent years we have started investing in foals under the expert breeding knowledge of Willie and are looking forward to having some success hopefully in future years.
Our first foal recruit, now 2yrs old, has just been broken in and was a pleasure to see working up the gallops recently. We are so lucky to be a small part of their very successful business and wish them every success for the future.
